Official amount estimate
The official Old Age Security Benefits Estimator is the government source for estimating an individual benefit amount.
Government benefits reference
Maximum Old Age Security, Guaranteed Income Supplement, Allowance, and Allowance for the Survivor amounts and income thresholds.
Current snapshot
Plain-language context
OAS pension amounts depend on age, residence history, and income. GIS, Allowance, and Allowance for the Survivor are income-tested benefits connected to the OAS program.
These tables show maximum monthly payment amounts and income thresholds for the listed payment period. Actual benefit amounts can differ based on personal income and eligibility.

Calculator source model
Canada.ca states that detailed benefit rate tables are no longer available and have been replaced by the official Old Age Security Benefits Estimator. OpenBook's GIS Calculator is therefore designed as a transparent screening estimate, not an official entitlement table lookup.
The calculator starts with annual income excluding OAS, applies the working-income exemption to entered employment or self-employment income, compares countable income with the current threshold for the selected category, and flags eligibility issues entered by the user.
Official amount estimate
The official Old Age Security Benefits Estimator is the government source for estimating an individual benefit amount.
Working-income exemption
The model treats the first $5,000 of entered employment or self-employment income as exempt, then treats 50% of the next $10,000 as exempt.
OpenBook estimate type
The OpenBook result is a screening estimate. It does not determine Service Canada entitlement, exact table amount, partial-OAS interaction, residence status, sponsorship restrictions, or whether a current-year estimate will be accepted.
Notes and assumptions
OAS and GIS payment values are maintained with the source values for this reference.
