What this reference means

RESP contributions may attract the Canada Education Savings Grant. Eligible beneficiaries from lower- or middle-income families may receive an additional CESG amount.

The Canada Learning Bond is different: no RESP contribution is needed, but eligibility depends on income and other program requirements.

Quebec and British Columbia have distinct provincial education-savings programs. Alberta and Saskatchewan are shown as historical context only unless a current source confirms an active program.

Eligibility and provider rules

RESP and education-savings values are maintained with the source values for this reference.

Program availability depends on federal or provincial eligibility rules, beneficiary age and residency, SIN requirements, adjusted family income, contribution history, RESP provider participation, application timing, and whether a program is current or historical. Calculator outputs should treat provincial amounts as source-linked assumptions, not as automatic entitlements.
